Abstract
This study generally aimed to evaluate the hypoglycemic potential of Balakat tree in Diabetic mice the study includes administration of alloxan drug to increase the blood glucose level of the mice, more than 200 mg/dl is considered as diabetic mice. Introduction of treatment were done in every group of diabetic mice, collection of blood and checking of the blood glucose level was done using Easy Mate glucometer 3,6, and every 9 hours of interval Treatment utilized in the study were To Distilled Water, T1 0.1 ml of insulin, T1 0.3 ml of ethanol extract of balakat leaves, T2 0.5 ml of ethanol extract of balakat leaves, T3 0.3 ml of ethanol extract of balakat vascular cabium, T4 0.5 ml of ethanol extract of balakat vascular cabium,T5 0.3 ml of ethanol extract of balakat roots and T6 0.5 ml. of ethanol extract of balakat roots. The data gathered were statistically validated using One-Way ANOVA. Differences among the treatment groups were analyzed through Tukey’s Multiple Comparison Tests. Result revealed that there is a significant difference in the days of the administration of Balakat tree extract whereas no significant difference in administration in hours. Moreover, Balakat tree ethanol extract significantly lovered the blood glucose level in diabetic mice with roots extract having the most lowering effect compared to leaves and vascular cambium .This is due to the presence of tannins, Saponins, Glycosides, Flavoniods, Terpines, and steroids.
